Martin Luther King, Jr., was a great man who worked very hard to make sure that all people are treated the same, no matter what color skin they have.

When he was a little boy, African Americans were not allowed to do the same things as white people. They couldn’t even use the same bathroom! He did not think this was fair. In 1963, Martin gave his “I Have a Dream” speech. Other people liked his ideas and tried to help him change the way our country treated people. He helped teach our country that all people should be treated fairly.
