In
1960 , Ruby Bridges was the first African American student to go to an all white
school in New Orleans. Before Ruby, African American children could not go to
school with white children. Some white parents did not let their children go
to school because of Ruby. Many white people protested and yelled outside of
Ruby’s school everyday. Ruby Bridges was a very brave girl.
