Owls are fascinating birds of prey.
This scavenger hunt will direct you to four different web sites to find information about owls.

Go to the Owls site to find the answers to the following questions. 
  1. What are the two families of owls called?  Give the English name and the Latin name. 
  2. List five characteristics of owls. 
  3. Find the word "cosmopolitan" in the text. Then look at the dictionary definition.  What does this tell you about where owls are found? 
  4. According to this site, how many different species of owls are there in the world?

  6. Which area of the world does not have any owls?
