Dear Seasons Project partners,

Hello! We are a second grade class in Williamstown, West Virginia. We are located on the West Virginia/Ohio border along the Ohio River. Williamstown is a small town with lots of trees. In fact, we are an official Tree City. Our town is surrounded by hills and forests and the Ohio River. It was fun observing the changes in our crabapple tree since the summer. The crabapple tree is located in the middle of our schoolyard habitat garden. We drew pictures of the tree and drew a picture of how we dress in autumn.

The weather has been very different this fall. It has been very warm, but right after we did our observations the weather began to get cooler. We had not had a frost yet which is very unusual. Usually by this time of year the leaves have begun to change color and fall to the ground. As you can see from our pictures, the leaves are still very green.

We are excited about this project and can’t wait to hear from you.

Your Friends,
Mrs. Hunter’s Second Grade
Williamstown Elementary
