Our Tree in Autumn

Fall Tree

MOST SPECTACULAR TREE IN WETHERSFIELD
NOW AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING!

The best tree you could have in a schoolyard is in front of Charles Wright Elementary School. The tree is shaped like an umbrella. It is tilted and wide. The red, yellow and green leaves are the best colors of any tree in the schoolyard. They are smooth, soft and sleek. Come look because some leaves have fallen and are turning brown and crunchy and rippled. Soon they will have to be raked up! This amazing tree is old, sturdy and strong. The fat brown trunk is rough and bumpy and good for climbing. The wood branches are good for whittling. Please visit as often as you would like. It is free.

This news has been brought to you by Mrs. Harris’ third graders at Charles Wright School.

Our Tree in Winter

Winter Tree in Connecticut

MOST SPECTACULAR TREE IN WETHERSFIELD
WEATHER REPORT

Cold temperatures have come to Connecticut! The average or mean temperature for one week in January was 36 degrees. The median length of a day from sunrise to sunset was 9 hours and 47 minutes. We can conclude that the sun is coming up earlier and setting later. That means that we now have more sunlight than in the fall. Are days are getting longer!

The most spectacular tree in Wethersfield is now bare. The silvery branches wave in the wind. Small reddish bumps hang onto the end of the branches. We wonder if these bumps are the beginning of new growth for spring. We will soon see!

Our Spring Tree

Spring Tree

The Lonely Tree
By Nicole S

The sun was shining
The trees were swaying
The branches were falling off
The night was falling.

The lightning strikes
The thunder roars
The wind was blowing
The tree splits in half.

The other part of the tree is lonely
It stands still
It waits for the other part of the tree to come back
The tree is still lonely.
