Our Tree in Autumn

Our Fall Tree

Hello from Hartland, Michigan! We are the Busy Bees from Village Elementary School. We are in first grade. We have 26 kids in our class. Our teacher is Mrs. Meier.
Fall is colorful in Michigan. The leaves change colors from green to red, yellow, orange, and gold. We have to rake the leaves that fall from the trees. Then we like to jump in the leaf piles.
We have had mostly sunny days so far this fall. The temperature is getting colder. We wear warmer clothes like sweatshirts, long pants, warm jackets, and long sleeved shirts.

Our Tree in Winter

Winter Tree

Our winter began with a lot of snow the month of December but has been mild, by Michigan standards, since. We've had a couple snowfalls but nothing major. Last weekend we had a taste of spring but tomorrow we are expecting enough snow to shovel! In Michigan, if you don't like today's weather - just wait until tomorrow because it will change. We are still wearing our hats, coats, winter coats, snow boots, and snow pants. The boots and snowpants help keep us warm on recess. They also help keep the mud off our school clothes! We are excited that spring will be here soon!

Our Tree in Spring

Springtime in Michigan varies from day to day. One day is warm while the next might be cold and snowy. The trees here in the spring are beginning to bud but still look pretty bare. It gets mighty windy some days. We are enjoying playing outside more without having to put on all of our winter outerwear.
