Our Tree in Autumn

Chickasaw Plum Tree

Our Fall Tree

We don’t have a lot of trees in Florida that lose their leaves, but the Chickasaw Plum Tree is one that does lose its leaves. The leaves are green and oval. The leaves don’t change colors in the fall. The birds like to sit on the branches and rest.

Our Class

This is our class on one of the days that we took our observations and pictures. We were wearing stylish uniforms. We were wearing skirts, shorts, pants, and short sleeve shirts. Three days later a hurricane blew through our state.

Our Tree in Winter

Our Chickasaw Plum Tree has lost all but four leaves. We can’t decide if these are the last leaves hanging on for dear life or if they are new leaves that have begun to sprout. Although our tree is bare you can spot a bird in the branches of the tree. It appears that the pigeon needed a place to rest his weary wings.

Our Class with our Winter Tree

This is our class on a very cold day. The temperature was about 60 degrees. We had on light sweaters, jackets, and long pants.

Our Tree in Spring

Our Tree in Spring

Our Chickasaw Plum Tree has its leaves back after a short winter break. The limbs are growing and it needs to be trimmed back. We have many days of hard work ahead of us to get our tree and garden into tip top shape. The weather is nice and we are beginning to get spring fever so we might just have classes outside for awhile until it gets too hot.

We are enjoying the small amount of shade that our Chickasaw Plum tree is providing for us.
