The drawings here are of a lonely stump because our tree has been cut down! The tree that the children were observing was located in the front yard of one of our teachers who lives across the street from one of the first grade classrooms. The children were horrified one day earlier in the spring to see the husband of the teacher cutting down “their” tree. However, they decided to they would do drawings of the remaining stump for their observations.
