The Nebraska quarter was the 37th state quarter to be released by the U.S. Mint. Nebraska became a state on March 1, 1867, and the Nebraska quarter was the second one to be released in the year 2006. The people of Nebraska suggested designs for this quarter. Then the governor made the final recommendation.

On the state quarter of Nebraska you will see the sun, a covered wagon carrying pioneers, and Chimney Rock. Chimney Rock is known as the most famous landmark on the Oregon Trail. It is 315 feet tall. After the U.S. bought land from France, the Oregon Trail became the 2000 mile long route that settlers followed to travel from Missouri in the East to Oregon in the West. They traveled in wagons like the one shown on the Nebraska quarter.
