Nevada
became a state in 1864. The design of this quarter was chosen by the
citizens of Nevada. On the state quarter of Nevada you will see three
wild mustangs. It’s important to the state of Nevada because
Nevada has more than 50 percent of the nation’s wild horses.
You will also see the sun rising behind snow-capped mountains. This
is important to the state of Nevada because Nevada has 150 mountain
ranges. Another thing you can see is two pieces of sagebrush. This
is the state flower. There is also a banner that says “The Silver
State.” This is the state’s nickname. Mining was an important
job for early settlers in Nevada. The famous “Comstock Load” is
the largest silver and gold deposit in Nevada. |
