The
Utah quarter was the 45th state quarter to be released by the U.S.
Mint. Utah became a state on January 4, 1895, and the Utah quarter
was the fifth one to be released in the year 2007. The voters of the
state of Utah chose the design of this quarter. On the sate quarter
of Utah you will see two trains and a golden spike. The golden spike
is what they used in the ceremony when the Union Pacific Railroad and
the Central Pacific Railroad became one. The two trains and the golden
spike are important in the state of Utah because they are a symbol
of the two railroads that became one railroad on May 10, 1869. |
