The
Wyoming quarter was the 44th state quarter to be released by the U.S.
Mint. Wyoming became a state on July 10, 1890, and the Wyoming quarter
was the fourth one to be released in the year 2007. The design of this
quarter was chosen by Governor Dave Freudethal. On the state quarter
of Wyoming you will see the bucking horse and rider. They symbolize
Buffalo Bill Cody and Wyoming’s wild west. Buffalo Bill was a
performer from Wyoming. He was also a rider on the Pony Express and
a buffalo hunter. You will also see the words “The Equality State.” It
is important in the state of Wyoming because Wyoming was the first
state to allow women to vote. It was also the first state to have a
woman Governor. |
